Originally from Nantucket, Ani Kasten grew her visual language though apprenticeships in England, artisan initiative projects in Nepal, and the divergent coastal landscape of Oakland, eventually settling in a restored historic storefront in Mt. Rainer, Maryland. Her profound and acclaimed body of ceramic work is a synthesis of urban industrial decay and organic pattern, exploring ideas of change, memory, and grief.
